If you have never used sublimation transfers before please read before purchasing:

  • What is sublimation? Sublimation transfers use a specific ink that turns a solid into a gas without going through a liquid stage. Sublimation printing, also known as dye sublimation, is a printing method for transferring images onto suitable materials.
  • Sublimation transfers must be pressed onto materials that are at least 40% polyester. Poly-blends are fine but just make sure you have at least 40% or higher. Pressing onto 100% polyester will absorb the most ink into the material making the color vibrant. A 65% or less polyester count will give you a faded or vintage look. 100% COTTON GARMENTS WILL NOT WORK.
  • Transfers must be pressed onto lighter color materials. White or light gray materials will give you the most vibrant color. White marble tees are a great alternative to white and press AMAZING! You cannot press onto dark colors unless you are planning to bleach the garment.
  • DO NOT PANIC when you receive your sublimation transfers, you will notice the colors will look lighter or faded until you press them onto the material. The heat application is what brings the colors to life.
  • Images will be mirrored, once pressed they will be the correct orientation.
  • The transfers are NOT VINYL and will not have a backing to apply. There will not be a texture to the material. They will also not peel or crack.
  • White colors do NOT print on transfers. If the design has white it is going to be a blank spot, you will need to plan your garment colors accordingly.

I am not responsible for transfers that are pressed incorrectly. Please make sure you are using the correct material, color, and press settings prior to pressing your transfers.

YOU NEED A HEAT PRESS to press this transfer, a house iron or Easy Press will not be sufficient for the image to transfer.

Application Instructions: (these are recommendations based on my personal experience, results may vary due to factors unique to every situation.)

  1. Set heat press temperature on heat press to 400 degrees F.
  2. Set timer to 60 seconds.
  3. Set pressure at medium to high pressure
  4. Place copy paper inside garment to prevent ink from bleeding through. You may need to place two pieces side by side depending on the size of your garment and design.
  5. Pre-press garment for 5 seconds to remove excess moisture
  6. Place transfer face down on your polyester based garment and lay a piece of uncoated butcher paper on top to avoid any ink transfer, this also helps keep your transfer in place. **Teflon sheets are not recommended because they can lower the heat. Also, if your teflon gets ink on it it also will no longer be able to be used because it will transfer on future garments**
  7. Press at 400 degrees F for 60 seconds at medium to high pressure (if your press pops up with force I would recommend catching it and letting it up slowly to avoid the transfer from shifting)
  8. Remove paper immediately and peel hot WITH CAUTION
  9. Allow item to cool

** Transfer and material will be VERY hot, use precaution or heat safe gloves to prevent getting burnt.

** Please note: Every heat press is different. Check your temperature using an infrared thermometer. Always check your pressure prior to pressing the transfer. Test your heat press to check for time, temp, and pressure.
